Pure Copper Jug with Lid 2L – Handmade in India

Description
About the copper jug
In India, drinking water that has been kept overnight in a copper vessel is a long-standing Ayurvedic morning habit called tamra jal. This large jug is handmade by Indian craftspeople from 100% pure copper, with ribbed bands, a handle for easy pouring and a lid with a brass knob. Fill it with water in the evening, leave it overnight, and pour into a copper tumbler in the morning. At about 2 litres, it holds enough for a family’s day.
Care
Hand wash only, without detergent. To restore the shine, rub with salt and lemon juice or a copper cleaner such as Pitambari, then rinse and dry. Copper darkens naturally with use; this is normal.
Please note
Use for plain water only. Do not store acidic drinks such as juice, lemon water, milk or tea in copper, and do not use it in a microwave or dishwasher. Drinking a lot of copper-stored water can cause stomach upset; people with Wilson’s disease should not use copper drinking vessels. Handmade: size, weight and colour vary slightly from piece to piece.
